Which Pass Type Should I Choose?

For travel: Use Boarding Pass - optimized for origin/destination display

For events: Use Event Ticket - includes seating info and wide banner

For beautiful photos: Use Hybrid Pass - full-screen background + online viewing (5 credits)

For loyalty programs: Use Store Card - shows balances and points

For discounts: Use Coupon - highlights expiration and terms

For everything else: Use Generic Pass - most flexible option

Sign Up with Your Email

  1. Click the "Sign In" button at the top right of the page
  2. Type your email address in the box (example: yourname@gmail.com)
  3. Click the blue "Send Magic Link" button
  4. Open your email inbox on your computer or phone
  5. Look for an email from PassMaker (check your spam folder if you don't see it)
  6. Click the blue button or link in the email
  7. You'll be automatically signed in - no password needed!

💡 Tip: The magic link expires after 4 hours. If it doesn't work, just request a new one!

Buy Credits to Create Passes

  1. After signing in, you'll see your Dashboard
  2. Click the "Buy More Credits" button
  3. You'll see the pricing: $5.00 for 20 credits
  4. Use credits to create passes: 1 credit for standard passes (same price for Apple, Google, or both), 5 credits for hybrid passes with online viewing
  5. Click the blue "Buy 20 Credits for $5.00" button
  6. You'll be taken to a secure Stripe payment page
  7. Enter your credit card information
  8. Click "Pay"
  9. After payment, you'll be redirected back and your credits will appear immediately

✅ Good to Know: Your credits are valid for 1 full year from the date of purchase!

Design Your Apple Wallet Pass

  1. From your Dashboard, click "Create New Pass"
  2. Choose Platform: Select Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, or Both
  3. Choose a Pass Type: Select from 6 specialized templates (Apple only)
    • Boarding Pass (1 credit): Flights, trains, buses
    • Event Ticket (1 credit): Concerts, sports, shows
    • Hybrid Pass (5 credits): Photo background + online viewing
    • Store Card (1 credit): Loyalty cards, memberships
    • Coupon (1 credit): Discounts and offers
    • Generic Pass (1 credit): All-purpose flexible template
  4. Fill in Pass Details: Each pass type has fields tailored for its specific use case
  5. Upload Required Images:
    • Logo, icon, strip banners, thumbnails, or backgrounds depending on pass type
    • The form shows exactly which images are needed
    • Drag-and-drop or click to upload
  6. Customize Colors: Primary color, background, and label colors
  7. Add a Barcode (Optional): QR Code, PDF417, Aztec, or Code128
  8. Click "Create Pass" and your .pkpass file will be generated

Receive Your Apple Wallet Pass

  1. After clicking "Create Pass", wait a few seconds while we generate it
  2. You'll see a success message on screen
  3. Check your email inbox (the same email you signed up with)
  4. You'll receive an email from PassMaker within 1-2 minutes
  5. The email contains an "Add to Apple Wallet" button
  6. Standard Passes: Download link works for 48 hours, then the .pkpass file is deleted from our servers
  7. Hybrid Passes: Available for online viewing for 1 year with unlimited access

⏰ Standard Pass Time Limit: Make sure to download standard passes within 48 hours! After that, we delete them from our servers for your privacy.

Add Pass to Your iPhone

On your iPhone or iPad:

  1. Open the email on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Tap the blue "Add to Apple Wallet" button in the email
  3. Your pass file will download (it ends with .pkpass)
  4. Tap on the downloaded file
  5. Apple Wallet will automatically open
  6. You'll see a preview of your pass
  7. Tap the "Add" button in the top right corner
  8. Done! Your pass is now in your Apple Wallet

🎨 How Apple Wallet Passes Look:

  • • Card-style design with your custom colors and images
  • • Front and back: Tap the pass, then tap the ⓘ button to flip it and see additional info
  • • Thumbnail image appears on the right side (except Hybrid passes which use full background)
  • • Strip images appear as full-width banners at the top (Event Tickets, Store Cards, Coupons)
  • • Barcode appears at the bottom when you open the pass

📱 To view your pass anytime:

Open the Wallet app on your iPhone or iPad. Your pass will be there! Tap it to open and see all details.

🗑️ Your Privacy:

Once added to Apple Wallet, your pass is stored locally on your device only. We delete standard pass images within 48 hours and have no further access to them.

Create More Passes Anytime

With 20 credits, you can create passes in any combination:

  • 20 standard passes (1 credit each)
  • 4 hybrid passes (5 credits each)
  • Any combination: e.g., 10 standard + 2 hybrid = 20 credits
  1. Go back to your Dashboard
  2. You'll see how many credits you have left
  3. Click "Create New Pass" to make another one
  4. Choose standard or hybrid based on your needs
  5. Repeat steps 3-5 for each new pass

When you run out of credits, just buy another credit pack to keep creating passes!

Common Questions

What if I don't receive the email?

First, check your spam or junk folder. If it's not there, go to your Dashboard and look under 'Recent Passes' - you can download it from there too!

Can I edit a pass after I create it?

No, once a pass is created, it cannot be edited. You would need to create a new pass with the changes. This uses 1 credit for standard passes or 5 credits for hybrid passes.

What happens to hybrid passes after 1 year?

After 1 year, the online viewing link expires and the pass photo is deleted. The pass will still work in Apple Wallet if you added it, but you won't be able to view it online anymore.

Can I upgrade a standard pass to hybrid?

No, you must choose standard or hybrid when creating the pass. To get the hybrid features, you'll need to create a new hybrid pass (5 credits).

What happens if my credits expire?

Credits expire 1 year after purchase. Any unused credits after 1 year cannot be used. We recommend creating all your passes within the year!

Can I get a refund?

Yes! Any unused credit pack may be refunded within 30 days of purchase. Email us at support@passmaker.io to request a refund.
